This Week at The Place
Pastor Simon will be preaching this Sabbath at The Place. The title of his sermon is "God Frees Us From Fear Today." It is the second in his series on the book of Hebrews.

Elder Rob Randall will be leading out in the adult Sabbath School that meets in the sanctuary at 10:30 a.m.

The Discipleship Training class will meet in the Prayer Room. The class will begin its training series with the book "Purpose Driven Life". This training is open to ALL attendees of The Place, however this is the LAST Sabbath to join the group until the next book is begun for purposes of continuity and group building. If you are interested in joining the Discipleship training class, please contact Pastor Simon.

There will be several copies of our Place Directory available for revision in the lobby this Sabbath....this time they will really be there!!! Please double check or add your information. We apologize in advance if we have incorrect information or if we have left you out. We would like to have you in there!

Our Daily Reading Plan has arrived! Follow along with the new sermon series on Hebrews by picking up your copy in the lobby this Sabbath. You may also click on the link provided.

Monthly Food Drive-Next Sabbath
Next Sabbath is our monthly food drive. After the holidays, there are less food donations, but the needs have not changed. We continue to donate the food to Ventura County Food Share. They have very much appreciated the donations that The Place has given. Some of the families that receive food every month have babies and young children. These families are in need of diapers and baby wipes. Every month the Ventura County Food Share provides meals to children, families and the elderly. Next week there will be a box by the door for your donations. If you, your family, or someone you know needs food assistance, please contact Pastor Simon.

Children's Ministry
We are still looking for a few more teachers who would be interested in teaching Sabbath school. If that is your gift, we need you. Also, we will be starting a Children's Church in the coming months. Children's Church will take place once a month. We believe that this ministry will be a great blessing for our children and an opportunity for ministry for many of us. If you are interested in teaching or in helping out in either area, please contact Denise Ramirez or Pastor Simon.

Letters of Encouragement
Josue Gomez, a member of The Place and currently in Marine Boot Camp in San Diego, has requested that we send letters of encouragement (no packages). It is obviously a difficult time but his faith is strong. We encourage you to keep Josue in your prayers and to write to him at: Rec. Gomez Coria Josue, STC/PCP, 36003 Midway Ave., San Diego, California. 92140.
