Baptisms at NPAA
This coming Friday night, there will be several baptisms at Newbury Park Academy. Services will begin at 7:30 p.m. The gentlemen who will be dedicating their lives to the Lord are Cory Bosse, John Stewart, and Jonathan Heldt. We are very excited for these young men and the awesome decision they have made to follow Christ. We are also pleased to welcome John and Jonathan as new members of The Place this Sabbath.

Food Drive-This Sabbath
This Sabbath we will continue our monthly food drive. We encourage everyone to bring canned goods, diapers, wipies and/or formula. There are many needy families that are constantly blessed through our giving. All of our donations go to the Ventura County Food Share which provide food to over 60,000 individuals. There will be a box marked "food drive" in the lobby where you may place your belongings.

Fellowship Luncheon-This Sabbath
We will be having our monthly fellowship luncheon this Sabbath in the fellowship hall. We look forward to sharing good food with all of you. We encourage you to stay and enjoy the fun and fellowship with friends. Please bring food as there will be many people joining us. This is your chance to spend some time in our new fellowship area and cafe and get to know one another even more. Please plan on staying after church.

Rummage Sale-This Sunday
There will be a rummage sale this Sunday, May 15th from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the parking lot at Conejo Adventist Elementary School. All proceeds will go towards the cost of our mission trip to Peru this summer. But, WE NEED YOUR STUFF!!! And, we also need your items to be priced. If you are interested in donating items to the sale, you may drop off your items at CAES throughout the week during school hours or on Saturday night from 7:30-9:00 p.m. or early Sunday morning. If you would like to assist in the rummage sale or have questions about donations, please contact Pastor Simon or Gillian Anguish at 805-358-6604. And, of course, we would love to see you there on Sunday! Thanks!!

Children's Church- Next Sabbath!
Beginning next Sabbath, May 21st, we will be having a monthly Children's Church. This will be a special time for our tots as we share about Christ through the Veggietales curriculum. Children's church will normally be held the 2nd Sababth of every month. However, we need YOUR help to make this a truly wonderful experience for the little ones. If you are interested in helping lead, plan, be in the background, do crafts, music or help in any way, please contact Pastor Simon, Heather Richmund, Jen Lew, or Cecilia Liversidge. Children's Church will meet during the adult service in our new youth chapel. We look forward to having your liitle ones there!!

Ministries at The Place
Our church officer year is ending soon, and we are looking for YOU. Yes, our mini-nominating committee will be meeting to fill vacant positions and look for new ministries here at The Place. This Sabbath we will be handing out a sheet at The Place regarding your interests. If you are interested in being a part of ministry at The Place, we would love to know about it! And, please keep in mind, that ministry means ANYTHING that builds up the body of Christ - in our church community or in our local community or world!

Also, we are planning on using the church on Wednesday nights for different outreach events. One highly recommended service would be to facilitate community service events such as: continuing education seminars, CPR classes, personal finance and home skills education(just to name a few). We will be conducting a survey to ascertain your ideas, needs and level of involvement. We are looking forward to your participation and your IDEAS!

Financial Update for April 2005
Once again, we want to thank you for your faithfulness as we continue to meet our financial obligations at The Place. During April, received $15,101 in tithe (to the Conference.) Thank you for that...it goes to pay our pastor and to support our school teachers and mission in Los Angeles.
You also gave $11,239 towards our church budget. This money goes towards our rent, school subsidies and the day to day mission and functions of The Place. Our monthly budget is $8,834, so we were able to catch up a little on our budget deficit this year. (We are only $4,700 behind budget.)
You were also generous in supporting our Peru Mission Trip...and, we need your help, particularly to help us in taking along our young people this summer. You may give to that mission project by marking your tithe envelope with "Peru Mission."
And, just a reminder that you may give each Sabbath at The Place or online by clicking on the link.
