The Scoop at The Place - October 6th, 2005

This Week At The Place
This Sabbath Pastor Simon will be preaching at The Place. This week Pastor Simon continues his series which focuses on Falling In Love With Jesus. This week is the fourth in his series and is titled "The God Of The Mulligan."

We also have a new Daily Reading Plan to follow along with the series, pick up your copy this Sabbath.

Elder Rob Randall will be leading out in the adult Sabbath School that meets at 10:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary. They are exploring the book of Acts.

During the next twelve weeks, there will not be a Discipleship Sabbath School class. Instead, anyone interested in Discipleship training is invited to attend the training class in giving personal bible studies held in the chapel behind the youth room. For more information, please read below.

And-a reminder that your tithes and offerings are always a blessing. You may return your tithes and offerings to The Place.

Discipleship Class
We have officially begun our new Discipleship classes! These classes are intended to equip people on how to give personal Bible studies. Our new bible worker, Mindy, along with Pastor Simon, will be conducting the new class. We will learn "how-to" as well as the "what" of Bible Studies on the major beliefs of SDA's. One group will be meeting on Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. (fellowship hall) and another group will be meeting on Sabbath mornings at 10 a.m. (the big room behind the youth room). All are invited...but we really need people who are willing to make a commitment over the course of the next three months. If you are interested in joining, please contact Mindy @ 805-807-6214 or Pastor Simon. And, don't be afraid...you will not be pressured!

Monthly Food Drive
We will continue with our monthly food drive this Sabbath morning. All of our donations go to the Ventura County Food Share. The Food Share has very much appreciated the faithful donations that The Place has made(even throughout the slow summer months), it has been a real blessing for SO many! Please bring any canned goods, diapers, wipies, or formula to church this Sabbath. There will be a box in the lobby marked "food drive" where you place your donations...thanks!

Children's Church-This Sabbath
We will also be having our monthly Children's Church this coming Sabbath. You are invited to bring your little one to the "Little Place" for praise, worship, story, craft, and snacks. Children's Church will be held in the Fellowship Hall from 11:30-12:30. This month's leader is Heather Richmund and this month's theme is "Church."
