Happy Thanksgiving November 24th, 2005

Happy Thanksgiving!
We wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving Season. There is SO much to be grateful for. Some praises to mention are the blessings of God in our lives and at The Place. We praise God for family and the joy that it brings us; for a country that offers us freedom; and a community of faith. We pray that you and your families are having a blessed time during this Thanksgiving Season. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We invite you to continue praying for our church, our families, our men and women who are defending our country and for our local community.

This Week at The Place
This Sabbath Pastor Simon will be preaching at The Place. He continues his series which focuses on Falling In Love With Jesus. This week is the eleventh in his series and is titled "Hide & Seek." We will also be celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday with a special time of praise.

We have a new Daily Reading Plan to follow along with the series. Pick up your copy this Sabbath.

You may also click onto the daily reading plan from our website, or you may listen to the sermons on-line (we even podcast!!) Check out all the new stuff at www.theplacechurch.com.

Elder Rob Randall will be leading out in the adult Sabbath School that meets at 10:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary. They are exploring the book of Acts. And a note to all those who attend the Discipleship training class- there will be no meeting this week. Discipleship training will resume this Wednesday night at 7 p.m. and next Sabbath at it's regular time of 10 a.m.

There are also Sabbath School classes available for all ages. Sabbath school starts at 10:30 a.m. at "The Little Place"...stop by and be blessed!

And-a reminder that your tithes and offerings are always a blessing. You may return your tithes and offerings to The Place or on-line by clicking on the link provided.

Congratulations!

A hearty congratulations to our newlyweds David & Sandra Haynes who were married on November 13th. We look forward to seeing both of you. Also to Merv Kessler & Nancy Hintz who will be wedding this Sunday. We wish you all a life full of God's richest blessings and much love... we are all very happy for you!

We also congratulate Alisa Kalberg on her delivery of healthy baby girl twins this past Sunday, November 20th. Alisa has blessed another couple of parents as she has been a surogate mother. We are all so proud of you.

The Place Progressive Christmas Dinner
Christmas is just around the corner...and that means that we will be celebrating with our annual Progressive Christmas Dinner Party. Please mark your calendars for Sunday, December 11th. We will be visiting three separate homes for meals and exchanging Christmas ornaments. And-there will be a special activity planned this year involving video cameras (my lips are sealed).

However, our party can only be a success with your help. If you are interested in preparing salads, soups, appetizers, main entrees, side dishes, and/or desserts, PLEASE contact Cecilia Liversidge asap @(818) 676-0247 or via e-mail @ cecilialiversidge@hotmail.com. Some members have already signed up, but we still need MANY more. You may sign up in the lobby this Sabbath.

Mom's Ministry
The Mom's Ministry continues to plan events together on a monthly basis. If you have not been on one of our "dates"...please take out your calendars, November is looking like a very fun month!

November 30th (this next week) is Girl's Night Out - Heather is working on something FUN (of course)! This is going to be a special evening as well because along with our evening of fun we are going to have cards for each of you - who are interested - to fill out for a Secret Santa drawing. The cards will be helpful to the person who gets your name because you will put things like the colors in your house or maybe a special request you might have for a gift... Then we'll put them in a hat you pass it around. At the December Girl's Night Out the Secret Santa gifts will be given and ALL WILL BE REVEALED!!!!!!!!! So, those who - for some sad reason - can't make it to November's Girl's Night Out - but want to be involved in the Secret Santa - NO WORRIES!!! We'll make sure you get a card and get to be involved!!

Any questions, comments? Please contact Heather @ 805-499-0398.

Look forward to seeing many mommies there!

Prayer Requests & Small Groups
During this Thanksgiving season we have so much to be thankful for. And, we love to hear your praises to God and to celebrate with you. Also, there are still many things for us to keep praying about in our homes, families, community and country. If you have prayer requests or praises, our prayer team would love to be praying for you. You may email them to Joelle Vessels at processgirl@hotmail.com.
And, our small groups continue to grow and be an incredible blessing to many people on a weekly basis. You can check out the current small groups online. If you are interested in joining one or starting a new one, please contact Pastor Simon at simonliversidge@hotmail.com
Thanks.
