The Scoop at The Place - June 1, 2006

This Week At The Place/Sabbath Morning Community Prayer Time
We look forward to seeing you this Sabbath at The Place. This week Pastor Simon will continue preaching on the Kingdom Of God. This week's sermon is titled "Humbling Into Happiness". There will also be a children's story before services. And, we will be accepting and voting Josh Rojas into membership.

You are invited to attend a special morning prayer time this coming Sabbath at 9:45 a.m before Sabbath School. Come join us and pray over our church, and for special needs in the community. Hope to see many of you there! We meet for the first time last Sabbath, and it was a blessed time! So, if you have the heart to bless our church by seeking God's blessing over our time of worship and to be used by God to bless others, come on out.All Sabbath School classes will meet this week. The classes meet at 10:30 a.m. Bill Werner will be leading out in the Sanctuary class. Rob Randall will be leading the general adult Sabbath school which is currently studying the book of Acts, and, Harley Peterson will be leading out anyone interested in music...in our music Sabbath School.

We also have the "Little Place" with Sabbath School classes for infants and toddlers, kindergarten aged children, earliteen classes, and youth sabbath school. Stop by and be blessed!

And, if you are not able to make it to The Place this Sabbath, please remember that you always have access to the sermons on-line (we even podcast!!). Check out the BRAND NEW LOOK of our church website and see the ease of navigation at www.theplacechurch.com.

We also invite your continued support of the ministry of The Place through returning your tithes and offerings. You may do this at The Place or by clicking on the link provided. Thanks!!

In celebration for all they have done, we will be having a special luncheon for them the last Sabbath in June, the 24th. This potluck will be hosted primarily by the mommies ministry, but available to all church members. Maranatha Mission Trip
Our mission trip is fast approaching. It will take place in Tijuana, Baja California the 16-23rd of July. Our group is almost full, BUT WE STILL NEED COMMITTED VOLUNTEERS AND DONATIONS. We need your help! Our goal is to raise $20,000 for this project. It will fund the building of a new church (which we are building!) for a group of almost 200 believers.

We will be having a brief meeting this Sabbath after church to discuss upcoming fundraisers. Please keep praying for this trip and for those who are going. Please contact Pastor Simon if you or someone you know would like to donate your money or your time or to assist in fundraising.
