The Scoop At The Place - November 9, 2006
This Week At The PlaceWe look forward to seeing you at The Place this Sabbath. This week
Fernando Rossi, the religion teacher at NPAA and a former pastor,
will be preaching at The Place. This week's sermon is titled "In
His Footsteps". Dean Palacio will be leading us in our praise time.
We invite you to Sabbath School this week. Our Sabbath School
classes meet at 10:30 a.m. Rob Randall will be leading the general
adult Sabbath school which is studying the book of Romans.
We also have the "Little Place" with Sabbath School classes for
infants and toddlers, kindergarten aged children, earliteen classes,
and youth sabbath school. Stop by and be blessed!
You are also invited to attend our community prayer time at The
Place every Sabbath before Sabbath School starting at 9:45 a.m. Come
and pray for our church or bring your special needs.
And-we appreciate your faithful giving. During the month of October,
we received $11,886 in tithe, bringing our yearly total to $139,066.
And, we received $10,578 towards our church budget. This gives us a
total of $97,421.65 for the year, about $7,500 behind church budget
so far. Thank you so much for your faithful support. You may return
your tithes and offerings at The Place or online by clicking on the

Children's Church-This Sabbath
Our monthly children's church is scheduled for this coming Sabbath.
Please bring your little ones to the fellowship hall at 11:30 a.m.
for a special time of worship and learning about Christ through
music, story, craft, and snack. This month's leader is Jennifer
Lew.
Thanksgiving Food Drive-This Sabbath
We will be having our monthly food drive this Sabbath. Sadly, there
are many people in our community who can't afford to have a
Thanksgiving dinner. Several markets and restaurants will be
donating turkeys, but we can help with the other food items that
make Thanksgiving dinner special. Among the items needed are: boxes
of stuffing and rice, canned olives, corn, gravy, fruit and mixed
vegetables, and packages of rolls. There will be a box in the lobby
this Sabbath for your donations. We appreciate your generosity.
NPAA Musical Benefit-This Saturday Night
The Newbury Park Adventist Academy band will be having a benefit
this Saturday night, November 11th. The band will be playing music
from around the world with two performances at 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m.
The PTO will serve hors d'oeuvres and there will also be several
booths open. You may purchase your tickets from any band member or
at the door. Come out and support your local academy!
