This Week At The PlaceWe look forward to seeing you at The Place this Sabbath. This Sabbath Pastor Simon will continue his series on John with chapter 5 verses 1-30. Financial Update
During the month of February we received $6,098 towards our local church budget. That gives us a total of $12,133 for 2007. To keep that in perspective, our church budget each month for The Place is just over $10,000. So, we are already about $8,000 behind our church budget for this year. Please don't forget about our church needs as you give.
We also received $12,547 in tithe, which goes directly to the Southern California Conference. This gives us a total of $22,866 for 2007. Thanks for your continued faithfulness in returning your tithe.
You may return your tithes and offerings at The Place or online.
Placers Create Landslide
The Placers softball team continued their winning ways with a lopsided 19-3 victory on Sunday. Robert Nomelli set the pace by pitching a masterpiece. Alisa Kalberg’s glove was a steel trap as she added more tough putouts to her resume. Sandy Werner flagged down everything that was thrown close to her at first base. Manager Erik Kalberg is happy with how the offense is gelling, stating “We are seeing the ball very well and able to manufacture a lot of base runners as a result, which led to a plethora of runs.” Come cheer on the Placers this Sunday at 6:15 at Borchard Park in Newbury Park.
The Adventure Continues
Yes, the adventure has begun and the adventure groups are ready to go. They are fellowship groups based on interests you are passionate about, and designed to be a place to invite your unchurched friends and neighbors. Some of groups have already started. If you are still not sure if you would like to get involved, take a look at the list of possibilities: basketball; soccer; snowboarding; cross-stitch; scrapbooking; guitar and bass; beauty; surfing; hiking; reflexology; hot flashers; mommies; entrepreneurs, AND snowboarders! You may still sign up in the lobby.
You can see all our groups and sign up on-line at http://www.theplacechurch.com/adventuregroups.asp.
Remember, we want your participation...but we also encourage you to make this a place where you can invite your friends who don't yet know Jesus!!
