Adventure Groups
Yes, the adventure has begun and the adventure groups are ready to go. They are fellowship groups based on interests you are passionate about, and designed to be a place to invite your unchurched friends and neighbors. Some of groups have already started. If you are still not sure if you would like to get involved, take a look at the list of possibilities: basketball; soccer; snowboarding; cross-stitch; scrapbooking; guitar and bass; beauty; surfing; hiking; reflexology; hot flashers; mommies; entrepreneurs, AND snowboarders! You may still sign up in the lobby.
The guitar and bass classes started this last Wednesday night, but will repeat the first class this coming Wednesday for those interested. And, the "hot flashers" are meeting for the first time this Sunday night. If you have to ask...

You can see all our groups and sign up on-line at http://www.theplacechurch.com/adventuregroups.asp.
Remember, we want your participation...but we also encourage you to make this a place where you can invite your friends who don't yet know Jesus!!

Baby Dedications this Sabbath
This Sabbath, March 10th is a special day for the Shea and the Liversidge families. They will be dedicating their precious baby daughters to the Lord. Brannon and Robin Shea will be dedicating Camdyn Noelle Shea; and Simon and Cecilia Liversidge will be dedicating Mia Ariane Liversidge. The families invite you to share in that dedication this Sabbath and to pray for the lives of these baby girls.

We will be having our monthly children's church this Sabbath, March 10th. Please bring your little one to the Fellowship Hall at 11:30 for an hour of fun learning about Jesus. This month's leader is Meaghan Quilop. We invite you to share in the joy of the Lord.

And, we are continuing our monthly food drive nthis Sabbath. Every month we collect canned goods, diapers, wipies and formula and donate it to the Ventura County food shelter. This Sabbath there will be a box labeled "food drive" in the lobby where you may place your donations...thanks for your generosity.

Tickets available before Box office opens on March 10th through Ralph Figueroa. For dates and times, visit www.theshepherd.org/events/passion-play. A group is being formed for the Sunday, April 1st showing at 2:30pm. Reserve your ticket for this group no later than Thursday, March 8th. Call 805 304-2154.

Softball Team Undefeated
The Placers undefeated season continued Sunday night with a 17-12 win over Have Mercy. David Haynes and Branon Shea showed no mercy on the opposition, each gave a perfect performance at the plate. The entire team contributed to the offensive fury, highlighted by Ralph Figueroa's towering home run over the center field fence (which unfortunately did not count because he hit it TOO far...one of the perils of the rookie league). The Placers mounted an iron curtain defense anchored by the husband/wife combo of Brannon and Robin Shea, who together put on a defensive clinic, while Bre Nomelli knocked down balls at the hot-corner and Alisa Kalberg assisted on numerous put-outs at 2nd. Come cheer on the Placers as they play their 2nd game of the season this Sunday at 5:00 at Borchard Park in Newbury Park.
