The Scoop at The Place - June 7, 2007

This Week At The Place
We look forward to seeing you at The Place this Sabbath. This Sabbath Pastor Simon will continue preaching over the book of John. This week's sermon is on chapter 12 and is titled "A Prophetic Word". Steve Jackson will be leading worship.

There will also be Children's Church this Sabbath in the fellowship hall starting at 11:30 a.m. This month's leaders are the Roeske's and the Bachmann's. We hope your little one will stop by.

We invite you to Sabbath School this week. In addition to our cradle roll, primary. earliteen, and youth Sabbath school classes that meet at 10:30 a.m., we have several new classes including a new kindergarten class for 4-6 year olds, a young adult class with Pastor Simon.

Rob Randall will be leading the general adult Sabbath school which is studying the book of Romans. Arla's class focusing on 1 John will be meeting again this week. Stop by and be blessed!

You are also invited to attend our community prayer time at The Place every Sabbath before Sabbath School starting at 9:45 a.m.

A New Pastor In Town
We are so happy to announce that we will have a new associate pastor as of July 1st. Steve Carlson will be joining Pastor Simon and the rest of the Placers to be our young adult/collegiate/youth pastor and be involved as a worship leader and working with our worship teams as well. We are very excited to have Steve and his wife, Daisy come on board with us, and are looking forward to this tremendous blessing for our young people! If you have a passion for working with this age group, or are a youth, collegiate or young adult and are interested in ministry in this area, please talk to Pastor Simon...and soon, to Pastor Steve!

We encourage you to challenge God to be faithful as well! We are about to bring on our new associate pastor, and that will raise our church budget by about 50%. We believe that this addition will be an incredible blessing to our church and our community, but we ask you to consider this faith venture and join us in this step as you return your tithes and offerings.

To do so, you may click on the link below or return these gifts at The Place.
