Placers Softball Update and L.A. Dodger Game
The Placers softball team completed their spring season with an impressive 12-2 record. The Placers took 1st place in their division, leading the competition by an imposing four games, and placed 3rd in the championship playoffs. Co-manager, Fred Harlan summed up the season by stating, “I can’t tell you how proud I am of our team. Everyone contributed. That was the secret of our success. This team came together better than a potluck jello mold”. Slugger Ralph Figueroa explained the special shirts the Placers wore during the playoffs. “We wanted to let our co-manager Erik Kalberg know how much he means to us so we wore shirts bearing his name to honor him and encourage him to get well soon. We dedicated our playoff run to Erik.” Congratulations Placers on a terrific season!

And, for all baseball fans, we are going as a group to the Dodger's/Mets game Sunday, July 22d. The game is at 1:10 p.m. at Dodger Stadium. Our seats will be down the 3rd base line and are $22 each. Contact Fernando Cano at 805-444-8007 with questions or to sign up. We will also have a sign-up sheet in the lobby at church.

Financial Update June 2007
Once again, we would like to thank you for your faithful giving. During June we received $26,973 in tithe, for a total of $91,969 for 2007 so far. That is a blessing to us and our world church.

Also, in June we received $14,656 towards our church budget, giving us a total of $60,584 for the year. This leaves us approximately even with our expenditures for church budget this year. That is a real blessing. We also received just over $3000 towards our Associate Pastor Fund. That is a good start for us as beginning in July we will be paying for our new Associate Pastor Steve Carlson from our church budget. Thanks so much for your willingness to support the ministry of The Place and especially for our new youth and young adult pastor.

As a reminder, you may return your tithes and offerings at The Place or online by clicking on the link provided. If you are interested in donating to the associate pastor fund, you may do so online by specifying associate pastor fund or at The Place using a tithe envelope. Thanks for your support!
