The Scoop at The Place - July 19, 2007
We look forward to seeing you at The Place this Sabbath. This Sabbath Pastor Simon will continue his series over the book of John. This week's sermon is titled "Treasure in Heaven" which goes over chapter 17, verses 1-19 and focuses on Jesus' example of stewardship. We will also celebrate the baby dedication of Gracie Campagna. Her family is so excited to dedicate her to the Lord. Steve Carlson will be leading praise and worship.We invite you to Sabbath School this week. We have children's Sabbath Schools for all ages, including our cradle roll, kindergarten, primary, junior/earliteen, and youth Sabbath school classes that meet at 10:30 a.m.
Rob Randall will be leading the general adult Sabbath school which is studying the book of Romans. Stop by and be blessed!
You are also invited to attend our community prayer time at The Place every Sabbath before Sabbath School starting at 9:45 a.m. If you would like to pray for our church or be prayed for, we invite you to come and share in this powerful time together.

Church Fellowship Luncheon This Sabbath
We will have our regularly scheduled church Fellowship Luncheon this coming Sabbath. Please join us after church services in the Fellowship Hall. We invite you to eat and fellowship with us. Please bring food to share, the theme is general.
Youth and Collegiate/Young Adult Happenings
Youth Stuff:
This Saturday night there will be a massive capture the flag game at 8:30 p.m. on the NPAA field. Come out and have some great fun together.
Every Monday night the NPAA gym is open for youth from
7 p.m.-9 p.m. Please come join the fun.
Every Wednesday night there is a youth small group bible study in the NPAA bible room from 7-8:30 p.m.
And, next Friday night (July 27th) there will be a Big House Youth Vespers at The Place from 7-8:30pm. There will be a great band and worship time together. We look forward to seeing you there!
Collegiate/Young Adult Stuff:
The NPAA gym is open for basketball on Sunday nights from 6:00pm - 8:00pm.
Also, every Thursday, there is an outing to go Wakeboarding. We leave from the NPAA parking lot at 5 a.m. and return at 11 a.m. If you are interested, you must reserve your spot by contacting Zac Crook at 805-551-9943.
Dodger Game This Sunday
For all of you baseball fans, we are going as a group to the Dodger's/Mets game this Sunday, July 22d. The game is at 1:10 p.m. at Dodger Stadium. Our seats will be down the 3rd base line and are $22 each. Contact Fernando Cano at 805-444-8007 with questions or to sign up. But hurry, there are only a few tickets left!
Collegiates & Young Adults Lunch Next Sabbath
Are you ready to grow in Jesus and to grow together? We are planning a get together for young adults and collegiates at Macaroni Grill in the Westlake Promenade after church next Sabbath, July 28th, from 1:30-3:30 p.m. This is an opportunity for us all to get to know each other and to talk and share about our ideas and to plan for some future activities together. Baby Shower for Alicia Adams
There will be a baby shower for Alicia Adams on Sunday morning, August 5th. All ladies are invited to come and pamper Alicia with love and gifts for her baby boy. The shower will take place at Jennifer Lew's home in Newbury Park at 10:30 a.m. If you are interested in signing up to bring food or to help in any way, please contact Jennifer Lew at 805-498-0905. Beach Vespers/baptism -Next Friday Night
Once again, we will be having our monthly beach vespers next Friday night, July 27th. Please join us at Sycamore Cove at 6:00 p.m. for dinner, worship, and a time of sharing. And, we invite you to come and celebrate a baptism as well!! This will be a blessed time together. If you can bring some food to share, we invite you to do so as well.
Mommies Ministry
This month's mommy of the month is Stacy Campagna. Stacy has just recently had a little girl, Gracelynn Brooke and has a two year old little girl, Chloe as well. We are all pampering Stacy this month with lots of TLC. If you would like to sign up to pamper Stacy, please contact Alisa Kalberg @ACKalberg@aol.com.
We have now started regularly scheduled play dates. The first and third Wednesdays of every month, we will meet at The Lakes on Thousand Oaks Blvd at 10:15 for play time and then stay for whatever venue they have that day at 11 a.m. The second and fourth Wednesdays we will meet at Conejo Community Park located off of Hendrix and Gainsborough at 10 a.m. for play time. Please come and bring your little ones.
We will also have our Girl's Night Out on the last Thursday of the month, July 26th. We will be going out to dinner at P.F. Chang's at The Lakes at 6:30 p.m.
Also, we are starting to plan for our annual Spa Day at Denise's home in Newbury Park. The spa day is scheduled for Sunday, August 19th. Please set this date aside for some much needed pampering! Stay tuned for more details.
