The Scoop at The Place - September 27, 2007
This Week At The PlaceWe look forward to seeing you at The Place this Sabbath. This Sabbath Pastor Simon will be preaching about the book of Acts, chapter 2: 42-47. This week's sermon is titled "The End Of Boredom" and focuses on the adventure of life. Dean Palacio will be leading praise and worship and we will be showing the video of the mission trip to Ecuador.
We invite you to Sabbath School this week. We have children's Sabbath Schools for all ages, including our cradle roll, kindergarten, primary, junior/earliteen, and youth Sabbath school classes that meet at 10:30 a.m.
Elder Rob Randall will be leading the adult Sabbath school which is studying the book of Romans. Stop by and be blessed!
You are also invited to attend our community prayer time at The Place every Sabbath before Sabbath School starting at 9:45 a.m. If you would like to pray for our church or be prayed for, we invite you to come and share in this powerful time together.
We also invite you to continue your faithful giving. We appreciate your support so much. You may return your tithes and offerings at The Place. God bless.

New Small Groups & Adventure Groups Sign Up This Sabbath
We are planning on starting several new small groups and adventure groups again this month. This will give us 22 total small group or adventure groups...but, we are always looking to start more! These include new groups in Moorpark, Woodland Hills and soon in Ventura, as well as the new youth and young adult small groups hosted by Pastor Steve and Daisy. There will be a brochure this Sabbath listing all the groups and you will have an opportunity to sign up to join a small group or adventure group this coming Sabbath after church in the lobby. This is a great way to get connected in a spiritual group and to join others who enjoy doing the things you do.
If you are interested in leading out or starting something new, please contact Pastor Simon at 805-498-2300. Don't miss out on these great opportunities for fellowship and sharing your faith with others.
And, for those who like their kicks, don't forget that we have indoor soccer now EVERY Sunday at 8:00 p.m.at the NPAA gym.

Relay For Life-October 13th & Help For Needy Family
This year our Relay for Life team is proud to announce we will be walking to honor Erik Kalberg! We're excited for this opportunity to show our support of Erik in his fight. As of Tuesday we have 17 members on our Relay For Life team but there's always room for more. If you or someone you know from The Place has been thinking of becoming a team member, register online at www.theplacechurch.com in the blog section or talk with Kevin Emmerson THIS SABBATH! If you're interested in getting involved with the prayer outreach team for Relay, please contact Rachelle LeMond. The prayer team will be praying for anyone with prayer requests during this time! It will be a cool ministry. The Relay begins October 13 at 10am and finishes 24 hours later. We hope to see you there!
There is a needy family right in our church community. Due to astronomical medical bills, this family is in need of pretty much everything, from food to gas cards, clothes, etc. If you would like to donate food, money, gas cards, or anything else, please contact Pastor Simon at 805-498-2300.
