The Scoop at The Place - November 15, 2007
This Week At The PlaceWe trust that you are having a blessed week in Christ and that you are ready for another wonderful Sabbath. This coming Sabbath Pastor Steve will be preaching at The Place. Pastor Steve's sermon is titled "You Can't Take It With You" and focuses on the book of Hebrews chapter 11 verses 15-18. Chad Reisser will be leading praise and worship and Pastor Steve and Robin Shea will have special music.
We invite you to Sabbath School this week. We have children's Sabbath Schools for all ages, including our cradle roll, kindergarten, primary, junior/earliteen, and youth Sabbath school classes that meet at 10:30 a.m.
Elder Rob Randall will be leading the adult Sabbath school which is studying the book of Romans. Stop by and be blessed!
You are also invited to attend our community prayer time at The Place every Sabbath before Sabbath School starting at 9:45 a.m. If you would like to pray for our church and our community or be prayed for, we invite you to come and share in this powerful time together.
We also invite you to continue your faithful giving. We appreciate your support so much. You may return your tithes and offerings at The Place or online by clicking on the link. God bless.
Fellowship Luncheon This Sabbath
Our monthly fellowship luncheon is scheduled for this coming Sabbath, November 17th. We invite you to stay after church for fellowship as well as a Mexican themed lunch. This month's coordinators are Meaghan Quilop and Ileana Burgos. We need your help to make this a success, so we invite you to please bring some Mexican food to share if possible...thanks! If you would like more information, please contact Ileana Burgos @951-961-7934.
Happy Thanksgiving
We want to wish our church family and friends a Happy Thanksgiving week. Each week as we hear your "God stories" we are amazed at the miracles God is doing in so many lives. We realize that this year many hearts are heavy due to physical, emotional and financial concerns. But, we have this amazing hope that the God of our God stories is continuing to bless us as we are faithful. You are a gift. We encourage you to be the hands and feet of God during this time of the year...as you bless one another with your prayers, phone calls and actions. As we do these things, we see God in action, and understand the real meaning of "thanksgiving." Thanks so much for the love you share on a daily basis and the joy of the Lord which is so evident in your lives. God bless.
Community Service Projects
On Sunday, November 25th, the youth will have a car wash community service project to help raise money for needy families in our community and at The Place. The car wash will go from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and will take place at NPAA.
As you start to think about your gift giving for Christmas, please keep in mind the Community Christmas Shoppe. We need new clothing items and toys for children from infant to teen. And, by volunteering for the day of the event (Dec. 8th.), you can take an active part in this awesome outreach ministry.
