Community Service-Fostering Hope Update
Several members of The Place are particpating in the "Fostering
Hope" program. This program mentors youth that are being released
from foster care. There are more than 50 kids who have requested a
mentor...someone willing to consistently spend time, be a good
listener, take them on outings, share an ice cream, go shopping, go
to a movie, share a book, introduce them to new possibilities and
ways of life will make a difference in their lives. An individual
interested in mentoring is screened, trained and matched with a
youth through the Big Brother Big Sister organization. There will
be a support meeting for all mentors the first Monday of every
month. Resources will be discussed and questions answered as mentors
come together each month to talk about their experiences and pray
with and for one another. If you are interested in being a mentor,
please contact Joyce Thomsen @ 805-377-8892.
Baby Showers
There are several baby showers that will be taking place soon.
There will be a baby shower for Lauren Fung on Sunday, March 16th at

the baby is not yet known, but Lauren and Glen are registered at
Babies R Us. The shower will be from 11-1 p.m. Stop by to shower
Lauren and the little Fung with some love!
Also, there is another mommy to be, Megan Maleshenko who is also due
