The Scoop at The Place - June 26, 2008
This Week At The Place/ Luau Praise Party This SabbathWe look forward to seeing you this coming Sabbath at The Place. We invite you to come dressed in your tropical best as we celebrate Jesus at our Luau praise service this Sabbath. There is no special occasion...we just want to celebrate Jesus and invite you to join in! Please join us after services in the cafe for tropical drinks and snacks and of course, a party!
This week Pastor Simon will continue his summer series on "A summer fling with Jesus" with his sermon entitled "The First Kiss" which goes over Luke 5, verses 17-26. Pastor Steve will be leading praise and worship and there will be special music by Keyla and Kirra.
We invite you to come before church services and attend one of our many Sabbath School classes. We have cradle roll, kindergarten, primary, junior/earliteen, youth and adult Sabbath school classes that meet every Sabbath morning beginning at 10:30 a.m. The adult Sabbath school class is lead by Elder Rob Randall and meets in the main sanctuary.
Also, if you have specific prayer requests, our prayer team would love the opportunity to lift you and your prayer requests up to God. Our prayer team meets each Sabbath at 9:45 a.m. to pray for our church and for special requests. We would love for you to join us in prayer in the junior/earliteen room. God bless.
We also invite your continued financial support of the ministry of The Place. You may continue to return your tithes and offerings on-line at www.theplacechurch.com or by clicking on the link. We realize that life is difficult for many of our members, and want to let you know we are praying for you. We believe God will continue to bless you in your faithfulness!
A New Scoop and New People
As we start a new church officer year, you will notice a few different things...beginning next week with a brand new format for The Scoop. We hope you like our new format. And, we have some new ministries that are beginning and others that will be starting soon, including a card/letter ministry; a couples ministry; a counseling ministry; a sound editing ministry, photography and some new adventure groups. You can check out all the ministries, new and old, by picking up a copy of our ministry list for 2008-2009 in the lobby this Sabbath.

Your only responsibility is to share about this wonderful program once you return. Pastor Steve has committed to go, but we need at least one church member to go with him.
