Our mission trip volunteers have returned safely from Chile. They were extremely blessed and left behind a new church for the people of Lo Guzmanes, Chile. Prayers Needed for Steve Jackson
Please keep Steve Jackson and his family in your prayers. Steve suffered a stroke just over a week ago and is currently in the critical care unit at St. Vincent's hospital in downtown LA. Right now Steve is on a ventilator and has been completely paralyzed from his nose on down. His family and doctors are considering their options at the moment, but, obviously, the situation is extremely critical. The doctors have indicated that only direct intervention by God will heal him. So, we invite you to join us in praying for this miracle for Steve. If you are interested in donating towards Steve's already considerable medical expenses, his brother Ira has established a bank account just for his medical expenses. You may write a check to Ira Jackson and mark Steve Jackson on the by line. If you have any questions, please contact Pastor Simon.
Relay For Life
The Place is excited to once again be participating in our local Relay for Life, sponsored by the American Cancer Society. Come join us for this exciting 24 hour outreach/fundraising event on October 4 and 5. The relay is to raise money for cancer treatment, research and advocacy. For information or to learn how to sign up free online, call our team captain, Kevin Emmerson @ 805-501-8285. We had a great time last year at this event and invite you to come and join us this year in a great community event for a great cause!
The Place Finances for July
Thanks for your continued support of The Place. In July we received 13,858 in tithe, for a total of $108,260 for 2008 to this point. We also received $16,200 in local church giving...including $14,907 directly for our church budget. This gives us a total of $91,806 in giving directly to The Place's church budget so far this year leaving us about $17,500 behind our church budget for this year. Your tithes and offerings are always a blessing. We thank you for your faithfulness in giving. You can return your tithes and offerings at The Place or by clicking on the link provided.
