Grand Opening Celebration
We look forward to this coming Sabbath as we will be meeting in our new church. Our new church facility is at the Vineyard Community Church located around the corner at 2697 Lavery Court, Suite #17 in Newbury Park. We encourage you to invite some friends and come celebrate our new Place together. Our grand opening celebration will include worship and praise with Scott Reed and The Judds, a special catered luncheon, and crafts for children. We hope to see you all there!

Food Drive-Next Sabbath
.."A gift opens the way for the giver and ushers him into the presence of the great." Proverbs 18:16.
Our monthly food drive will continue next Sabbath, April 9th. Every month we collect canned goods as well as diapers, wipies, and formula for homeless and needy families. The donations go to the Ventura County Food Share. Our donations have been a great blessing to many in need. Next week there will be a box in the lobby of the church marked "food drive" where you may place your donations. We thank you for your faithfulness and generosity.

Wild At Heart-This Sunday
It's that time again! All those men who are feeling wild are invited to come out this Sunday and spend a day of "praying, playing, and staying" together. Meeting time is at 10 a.m. at the park on the corner of Wendy and Kimber for a time of prayer and sharing. Next on the agenda is a time of reckless play. Finally, for those who would like to stay, is lunch time (lunch location to be decided). Pastor Simon would really like to emphasize what great fun it was during the last meeting and looks forward to seeing many more wild men this time around.

Baby Shower on April 9th
Please join us next Sabbath, April 9th for a baby shower for Greg and Meaghan Quilop. We will begin celebrating the coming birth of baby Quilop at 7 p.m. at Rodney & Cindy Andregg's home. The Andregg's are located at 132 Cindy Ave in Newbury Park, phone # 805-376-1115.
Greg and Meg are registered at Babies R' Us and Babycenter.com and the baby's gender is known only by God at this point. We look forward to seeing you there!

Peru Mission Trip
For those of you who do not yet know, the Place is planning a mission trip to Puerto Maldonado, Peru through Maranatha this coming July for a total of 10 days. The mission is to build a community center. This project is not only a tremendous blessing for many people in the Peruvian community, but also for the many missionaries who will be going. If you are interested in being a part of this project, it is imperative that you give Pastor Simon a $100 non-refundable deposit by THIS Sabbath. We are in the process of confirming travel arrangements and need a final number. If anyone is interested in donating to help sponsor one of our missionaries, please contact Pastor Simon or specify "Maranatha Mission Project" on your tithe envelope.

Mommies Ministry
OK, so what this is - is a Placer Mommy ministry that will be meeting once a week to do something fun and just have some fellowship together! Many of us see each other at Sabbath School or other events but it would be nice for us to really get to know each other better so we have a great network of girlfriends to call on when in need - and since we're ALL Mommies - we're all in need at one time or another!!!! This is a no stress situation - all fun.
Heather Richmund is the contact for the group and will e-mail the mommies weekly to give the "date" for that week and will have subsequent weeks included so you can plan ahead! This week, all the mommies will meet on Wednesday, April 6 at 11:30 a.m. for a potluck luncheon at Heather Richmund's home. If you are interested in going, please contact Heather. If anyone has a scheduling conflict due to part time work or something like that - PLEASE make sure to let Heather know so she can schedule different days and times to make sure and include as many as possible!!

February's Financial News
Every month we like to give our church community a few opportunities to see our financial situation. But, first, we thank you for your continued commitment to The )Place and our ministry through your faithful donations and tithing. However, as you will read, we are already behind in the area of local giving. It is sometimes difficult to know the exact needs, but it takes regular giving for us to maintain our church home. We realize that this reporting is only for the second month of the year, but we also stress the importance of staying at our budgeted amount.
Tithe for February - $7,750.
Total tithe for 2005 - $21,365
Giving to Church Budget for February - $6,111. (Our monthly budget is $8,660.)
Total for Church Budget for 2005 - $12,994. (So, we are $4,240 behind budget for the year.)

Prayer Ministry
Last Sabbath morning the prayer team met early for a time of reflection and of course, prayer. We had a wonderful time in praying for the many requests of the church and for the community. But, we believe that our church will only continue to grow as WE grow in prayer. We would LOVE to see more people involved in this very important and crucial ministry. Ultimately, we would like to have our ENTIRE church praying for one another and our local community. We trust that you will seriously contemplate this opportunity. If you feel you are ready to start praying, or would like to know more about this ministry, please contact Joelle Vessels at processgirl@hotmail.com or Pastor Simon at simonliversidge@hotmail.com.

Congratulations To The Newly Engaged Couple!!!
We would like to extend a very hearty congratulations to the newly engaged couple, David Haynes and Sandra Noguera. David is the Director of Praise and Worship, a very active member within our church community, and very loved by many of his friends. Sandra is also very heavily involved in the Van Nuys Spanish church as Director of the Youth Society. David and Sandra had been dating for one year before he "popped" the question last Sunday at the Santa Barbara Zoo. We are SO happy for David and Sandra and look forward to a beautiful wedding later this year!
