Kitty knocked in her first RBI, while Jerry played a strong right field and scored multiple runs. The Placers could do no wrong at the plate. Andrea Harlan raised her average with another hit, while Bill Werner and Ralph Figueroa hit the ball with such ferocity that they left their opponents begging for mercy. Erik Kalberg even turned a ball smashed all of 2 inches into a hit. Come cheer on the Placers this Sunday at 7:30 at Borchard Park in Newbury Park. Upcoming EventsThis year the annual ACTION Day will be on June 2. ACTION Day is a day when Christians unite together to impact their communities by showing God's love in creative and practical ways. This year we will also have a variety of projects to participate in. There will be sign up sheets in the lobby on May 5th. If you would like to be a team leader for a certain project or if you know of a need in our community, contact Cindy Schumacher at Cindy6359@msn.com or (805) 579-9557. We also want to let you know as a church family that The Place is going to be hiring a new associate pastor in the near future...by God's grace. The money for this salary will be paid entirely by our church as part of our local church budget. So, if you can support us in this faith step, it would be a great blessing to us.

Placers In First Place The Placers softball team took sole position of first place by taming the Tigers 17-3 on Sunday! Led by a valiant display of bravado by the husband/wife team of Kevin & Annette Siver, who sacrificed their own well-being for the team by playing injured. Kevin pitched a gem despite a sore neck, while Annette had the defensive play of game by scooping up an errant ball at first and then stretching out her Charlie-horse laden leg behind her to make a key put out. Collectively the defense was brilliant as the Tigers continually tried to claw their way back into the game, which proved to be impossible as the Placers’ offense pounced on the cats earlier and often. Way to go Placers!
