This Week At The PlaceWe look forward to worshiping with you this coming Sabbath. This Sabbath Fernando Rossi, Religion Teacher at NPAA, will be sharing from God’s Word. We are also pleased to welcome the NPAA Jazz Band and Newburians under the direction of Christian Leukert. They will be praising God through their gifts of music. Steve Carlson will also lead some praise music. We invite you to Sabbath School this week. We have children's Sabbath Schools for all ages, including our cradle roll, kindergarten, primary, junior/earliteen, and youth Sabbath school classes that meet at 10:30 a.m. Elder Rob Randall will be leading the adult Sabbath school which is studying the book of Romans. Stop by and be blessed! You are also invited to attend our community prayer time at The Place every Sabbath before Sabbath School starting at 9:45 a.m. If you would like to pray for our church and our community or if you would like to be prayed for, we invite you to come and share in this powerful time together. Visitor's Luncheon This SabbathWe are pleased to invite all visitors and new members of The Place to our visitor luncheon this Sabbath following our service. The luncheon is at Rodney and Cindy Andregg’s home – 132 Cindy Avenue in Newbury Park (# - 805- 376-1115.) Directions will be available in the lobby. ALL members are also invited to come to our luncheon as well, but we invite you to bring a dish to share if possible. Pastor Steve and the awesome praise band will be leading us in worship. Come enjoy the worship, fellowship and the joy of the Lord together. Whale Watching/ Easter/ CampingIt is that time of year again…the whales are swimming by…and you are invited to join a group and see them! We are going whale watching on Sunday, March 16th at 1:00 p.m. out of Ventura Harbor. You may sign up in the lobby today or contact Caleb Guevara @ 805-796-7035 for more information. It is almost Easter and we are ready for our Easter celebration the weekend of March 22-23. We will be having a special Easter program on Sabbath and our Easter “sunrise” service at the park on Sunday morning. Stay tuned for the details. And, mark it on your calendar now…we will have our Church Camping trip to Carpinteria State Beach the weekend of May 9-11th. We have two group camp sites and we invite everyone to come! Bible Lay Teacher CertificationMichael Johnson will be offering Lay Evangelism Certification Training…teaching anyone how to give Bible Studies. The training will be Monday & Thursday evenings starting March 10. This will be an intensive training. The Place will cover the cost. Contact Pastor Simon if you are interested. Small Groups & Prayer 24/7We have many small groups that meet on a regular basis. Our small groups meet in Simi Valley, Newbury Park, Thousand Oaks, Camarillo, and in the Valley. If you are interested in getting connected, studying the bible, or having the opportunity to pray with others on a regular basis, please contact Pastor Simon to find out which group is the best fit for you. We also have a prayer ministry at The Place. This ministry is designed so that someone is praying for the needs and requests of members and visitors of the church on a 24/7 basis. If you would like to participate in this powerful ministry, please sin up for a time that is best for you in the lobby at church. Chile Mission ProjectWe are planning a Maranatha mission trip to Chile in August, 2008 and we finally have our project. We will be building a church outside the town of San Felipe, about 50 miles north of Santiago. The tentative dates are August 5-17, 2008. There is a sign up list in the lobby if you are interested, but now is the time to add your name to the list as we are making airline reservations and will be accepting your deposits soon! You may contact Pastor Simon with any questions.

His sermon reflects on Judges 19-21 and focuses on finding truth. Chad Reisser will be leading praise and worship. The Café will be open after church and we invite you to fellowship together.

Hot Flashers Movie Night this Sunday To all ladies out there…you are invited to the Hot Flasher's Movie Night this Sunday, Feb. 24th at 6:30 pm for a Broadway Opening Night Event. Community Service Project - Meeting this Sabbath There is a Fostering Hope Ministry info meeting THIS Sabbath, Feb. 23d. from 8:30-noon @ Crossroads Community Church, 1221 Calle Suerte in Camarillo. Fostering Hope is a mentor program aimed at the approximately 1,000 children currently living in foster care in Ventura County. Fifty to ninety of these foster children will “age out” of the foster care system annually (reach the age of 18). A mentor can assist a foster youth during the transition from being in a foster care system that often makes decisions for them to making their own decisions about finding a job, managing finances or finding an affordable place to live. Without a mentor, many of these young people will end up in the state correctional system. As a mentor you commit to spending two to three hours each week with your young adult. This Week At The Place/ Happy Valentine's Day We look forward to worshiping with you this coming special Valentine's Sabbath. This Sabbath Pastor Simon will be preaching at The Place. This week's sermon is titled "Love In The Time Of Joseph" and goes over the story of Joseph in Genesis 41. This week Dean Palacio will be leading praise and worship, and Greg & Meg Quilop will have special music. Dawn Lyman will be sharing a special children's story.

Fellowship Luncheon-This Sabbath Our monthly fellowship luncheon is scheduled for this Sabbath, February 16th. We invite you to stay after church services for the food and fellowship and to bring a dish if possible. This month's theme is "My Favorite Dish" and you may bring the dish as well as a recipe to share with others. We look forward to seeing you.

This Week At The Place We look forward to worshiping with you this coming Sabbath. This Sabbath Pastor Simon will be preaching at The Place. This week's sermon is titled "Joseph At War" and goes over the story of Joseph in Genesis 40. This week Steve Jackson will be leading praise and worship. Valentine's Dinner This Saturday Night The Place will have its annual Valentine's Dinner THIS Saturday night, Feb. 9th. It will be at Ottavio's Restaurant in Camarillo starting at 6:00 p.m. Each person will be able to order off the regular menu, so there is no set price this year. This has been a great time together each year and we invite you to come out and have a great time again this year. Church Business Meeting There will be a church business meeting next Wednesday night, February 13th at The Place in our Fellowship Hall. If you are interested in knowing the "business" of the church we invite you to come next Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. for our annual church business meeting. We will discuss our plans for The Place, our church membership, and church finances. If you have questions about The Place or ideas for our ministry, this is your opportunity to ask or share your opinion!

Care Packages For PUC Students THIS Sabbath We are putting together Care packages for our college students at PUC. Please bring snacks, cards or small gifts THIS Sabbath to The Place to remind our college students we’re thinking about them. We will have the boxes/bags at The Place this Sabbath for stuffing. Packages will be delivered Feb.16.
