This Week At The Place/ Luau Praise Party This Sabbath

We look forward to seeing you this coming Sabbath at The Place. We invite you to come dressed in your tropical best as we celebrate Jesus at our Luau praise service this Sabbath. There is no special occasion...we just want to celebrate Jesus and invite you to join in! Please join us after services in the cafe for tropical drinks and snacks and of course, a party!

This week Pastor Simon will continue his summer series on "A summer fling with Jesus" with his sermon entitled "The First Kiss" which goes over Luke 5, verses 17-26. Pastor Steve will be leading praise and worship and there will be special music by Keyla and Kirra.

We invite you to come before church services and attend one of our many Sabbath School classes. We have cradle roll, kindergarten, primary, junior/earliteen, youth and adult Sabbath school classes that meet every Sabbath morning beginning at 10:30 a.m. The adult Sabbath school class is lead by Elder Rob Randall and meets in the main sanctuary.

Also, if you have specific prayer requests, our prayer team would love the opportunity to lift you and your prayer requests up to God. Our prayer team meets each Sabbath at 9:45 a.m. to pray for our church and for special requests. We would love for you to join us in prayer in the junior/earliteen room. God bless.

We also invite your continued financial support of the ministry of The Place. You may continue to return your tithes and offerings on-line at www.theplacechurch.com or by clicking on the link. We realize that life is difficult for many of our members, and want to let you know we are praying for you. We believe God will continue to bless you in your faithfulness!

May Finances
We invite your continued financial support of the ministry of The Place. During May we received $14,966 in tithe (which all goes to the So. Cal. Conference); and $10,806 in giving to our local church budget. This gives us a total for 2008 of $59,838 in tithe...leaving us about $5000 behind last year at this time.
We have had a total of $51,760 given towards our local church budget. This also leaves us about $5,000 behind last year at this time. BUT, it leaves us well behind our church budget needed. Our monthly church budget, including for Pastor Steve, is around $17,500 a month, or $82,725 for the year. So, you can see we are slightly more than $30,000 behind our church budget for this year. We need your faithful giving.

You may continue to return your tithes and offerings on-line at www.theplacechurch.com or by clicking on the link. We realize that life is difficult for many of our members, and want to let you know we are praying for you. We believe God will continue to bless you in your faithfulness!
