Plate Full Diet
Mar. 23, 24, 25 – “Are You Eating Enough to Lose Weight?” A light-hearted, fun presentation with lots of great illustrations. Presented by an author of the “Full Plate Diet,” a book that has already been on the NY Times Bestseller list. “Most diets tell you to cut back on your food portions, to deprive yourself, not The Full Plate Diet. The solution is to eat more foods that have the two most important ingredients for sustainable weight loss; the rest will take care of itself.” The authors add the average American is not coming close to eating enough foods with these two vital ingredients. Locations: Mar. 23 – in Glendale, location TBA; Mar. 24 – 6:30 p.m. with reception, at the Simi Valley Church; Mar. 25 – 7 p.m. with reception, at the Temple City Church. Info:

Mission Trip Honduras 2010
This year The Place is going to build a school in the Valley of the Angels in Honduras. We also hope to be working on an orphanage project, but we need more people to volunteer. The trip is scheduled for August 1-12 of this year. This is a Maranatha project. The cost as it stands now is approx. $1500, but we are hoping to fundraise the $17,000 construction cost as a church. If we are indeed able to raise that money then it would cost down for each individual to approximately $1100. We would appreciate your help as a church family to construct this school. There will be a brief meeting this coming Sabbath for those of you who are interested and would like further information. If you are interested, we have a sign up sheet at the back table or you may contact Pastor Simon. We are now accepting the $100 deposit to confirm your place and reserve your airline ticket.
Mission Trip Fundraiser
Do you throw your aluminum cans and plastic bottles into your weekly trash? If you do, please STOP NOW!!!!! We want your trash! If you would put aside those items in a separate bag and bring your bag to Sabbath each and every week, we will gladly take it off your hands and turn it in for CASH to help fund the 2010 Mission Trip to Honduras. We need to raise over $10,000 to build a school and do repairs on an orphanage. Let's make this a big success. If you have any questions please call Donna Goldman at 805-407-9535.
Volleyball Outdoors
One of our Place members, Chris Sinnett is planning on starting a Tuesday night Beach Volleyball group at Dos Vientos park. Chris will be there from 5:30 until 8:00PM. each week, (he also has lines to mark the courts and at least 2 beach volleyballs of his own) so all people have to do is show up and have fun! Call Chris at 818-584-5750 for more info.
Adventurer/Pathfinder Club
The Place is looking to start an Adventurer/Pathfinder Club in the near future. Adventurers range from 6-10 yrs of age and Pathfinders range from 11-15 yrs of age. These clubs will offer children an opportunity to grow in Christian fellowship, have outdoor fun, and acquire different honors.
